Can you charge a phone with a higher amperage?

Hello,So, a little while ago, I bought an external battery that has 2 USB ports, one that delivers 1 amp and the other 2 amps. I have a power adapter provided with my laptop that delivers a current of 1.5 amps to charge my battery. I would like to know what the risks are if I plug my laptop into the 2 amp port?Looking forward to your response.Thank you in advance.Configuration: Windows / Chrome 49.0.2623.110

So... Generally, 2 amps are used for tablets and it's usually better not to try... But I don't know what you have and depending on that, there are some phones that can tolerate a higher amperage. As for the consequences, I'm not exactly sure, but it can damage your battery... we'll see ^^

Hello,  I confirm LordMacDragus's opinion. It's the voltage that matters and must not be exceeded (and the polarity respected of course). You could have 10 A without any issue. The device uses what it needs.  Best regards
