Installer une archive firefox

Bonjour,

Je voudrais tester le tout dernier firefox. La distribution nous propose un RPM de la version ESR. Je voudrais autre chose. J'ai trouvé mon bonheur en tar.gz . https://www.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/new/ J'ai chargé et décompressé l'archive.
Le démarrage se passe mal:

En prenant soin de bien refermer le firefox ESR on obtient

Je met cette derniere commande en place.

puis je réessaye:

Là j'y croit, mais quand je vais voir la version du firefox qui s'est ouvert, je retrouve ma version ESR. C'est raté.

Je vais tenter de désinstaller firefox ESR pour voir.

Y a t-il quelque chose à faire ?

    Salut,

    As-tu téléchargé la bonne version correspondant à ton architecture (32/64 bit) ?

      Salut zipe.
      Tu me poses une colle. Le nom de l'archive n'est pas explicite, la décompression ne donne pas plus de renseignement. Je suis bien embêté pour te répondre.
      Y aurait-il un truc plus technique pour savoir ?

      Merci zipe. Maintenant c'est confirmé, j'ai la version 64 bits conforme à mon architecture. Cependant il n'y a guère d'avancement. 
       bash firefox
      firefox: firefox : fichier binaire impossible à lancer

      et 
      # sh run-mozilla.sh

      run-mozilla.sh: Cannot execute .

      Pourtant: firefox est bien executable. 
      ls -l firefox
      -rwxr-xr-x 1 thierry thierry 147808 févr. 11 02:50 firefox*

        Je l'avais installé sur une VM avant de te répondre et tout marche nickel chez moi : 

        [jp@localhost firefox64]$ arch
        x86_64
        [jp@localhost firefox64]$ ./firefox

      Je n'ai peut être pas décompressé au bon endroit. /home/thierry/telechargement/firefox
      Sois ça ne démarre pas comme indiqué plus haut soit c'est la version ESR qui démarre.
      Dans ta VM tu avais installé le RPM auparavant ? 
      #urpmi firefox

        Dans ma VM c'est le paquet ESR par défaut qui était installé.
