Audio issue between PC monitor and PS4

Hello,
I have a PS4 and a PC monitor without built-in speakers, so I would like to get the sound through separate speakers. The problem is that the PS4 doesn't have a jack port, only on its controller, but plugging speakers into a controller while playing isn't very practical. I am therefore looking for a solution, knowing that the PS4 has a port for an optical cable. Should I go for purchasing speakers that work via optical? If so, is it just as good as jack?

I look forward to your responses, thank you in advance.

Since I can't post another update, I'm updating this one:
    Hello,
I have a PS4 connected to a PC monitor without built-in speakers and I would like to connect speakers to my PS4 (it's not possible directly to the monitor). I've done some research and I think I've found a solution, but I'm not sure if it's possible, so I need your help:
Can I buy an external sound card and connect it to my PS4 to then plug my speaker into it?

I look forward to your replies, thank you in advance.

An external sound card works on Windows, MacOS, or Linux, but not on PS4... because there is no way to install its driver. Headsets that have integrated sound cards are headsets that convert audio received via optical cable to redistribute it into the headphones.

What you need is a small amplifier capable of receiving HDMI and converting it to RCA output or separate jacks.
