Text messages (or SMS) with attachments

Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. When someone sends me a text message (SMS) from their own mobile phone that contains an attachment (either photo, document, or other), my Samsung cannot open it. I click on 'Download', and it keeps spinning and spinning and spinning....

Does anyone know why, and more importantly, how can I fix the problem? Thank you.

    Hello

    if you receive a photo or a video or an attachment, it’s no longer an SMS but a MMS.. it's not the same..

    so for that you need a subscription that allows it
    you must activate your data network, either 3G or 4G, and you must also be in a covered area for reception

    AND obviously that your operator's network settings are configured...
