Hello everyone,
I’m new to the site!
I bought this satellite decoder last July and it worked perfectly during my travels in the camper this summer. Upon returning home, I put it in the closet of a bedroom, and now that I wanted to use it again, surprise !! It no longer receives any signal! I oriented it with a specific compass towards AT bird 3 like before (tests were done at the time of purchase!) knowing that this decoder is compatible with the new reception format!
A HUGE THANK YOU to anyone who can help me.

Hello,

In my opinion, it's a matter of proper alignment with the right satellite.

A compass is not enough; you need a more precise device to aim your dish, like the SF-500 for example https://www.amazon.fr/SF-500-Satfinder-pointeur-satellite-parabole/dp/B005MY66BG. The slightest angle error of less than 1° can put you over 700km away from the satellite.

With this device, you select a transponder from the satellite and adjust the position of your dish until you achieve the best reception level with the highest quality possible... Only then can you start adjusting your channels... It's also important to know that there are updates from time to time, sent by the satellite... If you encounter a situation like that, you have to wait for the update to start seeing a picture... If the dish is not properly aligned, you will never see anything...

So it's up to you to do what's necessary with method and patience.

Thank you very much, I will go ahead and order this device right away and keep you updated on the reception because I am a beginner in the field, so during my travels, I must have been very lucky lol! Thanks again, have a good evening.

In principle, all satellite terminals already have a built-in bar graph to point the dish to Eutelsat 5WA at 5° West.

Consult the correct index "satellite" then "pointing"

Thank you, but this one indicates nothing, so I ordered the SF500 -satfinder pointer which was recommended to me by Jeannets after reading the reviews on this model. It seems to be very accurate and quick to set up. The satellite for this model is At Bird 3.
Thanks again for your help.
Best regards, Dominique.

OK, but it's more convenient to have the SF-500 in your pocket to get close to the dish, near the wall or the chimney... with the demodulator it's less convenient and riskier... especially if the weather is rainy... That's why I never talk about the Bargraph...

Best regards

Good evening, I received this toy this morning, and this afternoon I took the pleasure of trying it out and it was SUPER, the best of the best, all TV and radio channels were set up in just 5 minutes! I don't regret my €68, thanks again to you. This is a device that truly deserves to be advertised.
.Best regards, Dominique

OK, very well

And you'll be able to use it at other times... and you'll probably have requests...!

Fair winds, but not too much...

See you+++
