Create tooltips in PDF

Hello,

I am in an apprenticeship at an institution, and I want to create a PDF to be published on the website of one of their programs.

This PDF will reference partners with their addresses/phones/website

To make it more aesthetically pleasing, I want to illustrate this information with pictograms. Then, when hovering over one of the pictograms, the address or phone number appears in a bubble below or next to it, whichever.

I haven't found much that can meet my expectations...

I can only use free software, or I have access to a few Adobe programs including Acrobat and InDesign.

    You can create "tooltips" with Adobe LiveCycle, which is (in theory) installed with Acrobat "Pro"...

    This function is used for field instructions in forms, but you should be able to adapt it to an object on mouse hover.

    However, I am not sure if all software (other than Acrobat Reader) will be able to activate them. In browsers, it is not the full Acrobat Reader that is implemented but a "light" version, and sometimes it is not even Adobe's software. There are indeed many other PDF readers (on Mac, for example)... So I'm not sure it will work every time.

    With free software, I don't know of any that can do this.

    And with an HTML page with the image as the background, wouldn't it be easier?

      Thank you for your response.

      The website is managed by a service provider, we do not have control to create new pages and it's up to us to manage this part, which is why the list of service providers is a PDF displayed on the internet.
