Hello everyone,
I have an ACER ASPIRE 5742 G running Windows 10, with a QWERTZ (Swiss) keyboard.
After setting up an Administrator account with an ID and password, I created a standard user account for my little girl***, to set up parental control with Qustodio. The ID and password are defined in the Qustodio settings and then appear on the desktop, below my Admin account.
Strangely, for her***, after a successful login, and only for the password, the keyboard layout switches to AZERTY. This means that when typing on a QWERTZ keyboard: Q = A - W = Z - Z = Y - A = Q - Y = W - M = , (not to mention the letters), and the password no longer makes any sense, leading to rejection: EMMA becomes E,,Q
I have never seen anything like it. I am very interested in any solutions you might know for this kind of issue, and I guarantee you eternal gratitude!
Thank you in advance and happy new year to you.

Because the manuals don’t say everything...
But they don’t say nothing either, right!-
Hello,
Thank you for your response, especially at this hour! I must admit that I was already under the covers.
Of course, before posting my request, I had already tried the manipulations you suggested, which correspond to what I found on various forums, but to no avail despite my repeated attempts.
The problem occurs ONLY when entering my little girl's password, which is set in the Qustodio parental control and automatically switches to the desktop.
No issues with my administrator password, and in Office (Excel, Word, etc.) for example, nor when setting or modifying a file or folder name.
I wonder if there’s some odd interaction between Qustodio and Windows?
I’ve contacted the support of this developer and I'm awaiting their response. I will also talk to the technician who replaced the HD and installed Windows 10 because I remember he had "configured the QWERTZ keyboard" at that time.
If I get a working solution, I will make sure to share it on this forum.
Once again, thank you all.
Best regards. -
"There is no twisted interaction between Qustodio and Windows?
Clearly, Windows manages the keyboard in AZERTY mode, while Qustodio manages it in QWERTY.
It's likely that we can change the mode in the options of the Qustodio program.
"The technician who changed my hard drive and installed Windows 10 [...] had 'configured the keyboard as QWERTZ' on that occasion."
Actually, no, because the keyboard is recognized as AZERTY because 'There's no problem with my administrator password, and in Office (Excel, Word, etc.), for example, or when defining or modifying a file or folder name.'"- Good evening,
Thank you for your availability.
Following my discussion with the technician I mentioned.
1° Qustodio is in French and AZERTY, and my PC is by default in French and QWERTZ (Switzerland). I use it in this last configuration, and everything is fine. The only problem was the keyboard that caught me off guard at first, but I adapted, and my little girl juggles even faster between a MacBook Pro AZERTY and a QWERTZ PC.
2° I haven't received a response from Qustodio support, and the tech said it is very unlikely that we can intervene on this parameter.
3° The problem occurs only for entering the user password Emma; there are two straightforward solutions:
31° Set a password with letters that are in the same position on AZERTY and QWERTZ.
32° Choose a password consisting only of numbers: I chose this simple solution, and the problem is solved. Long live pragmatism.
Best regards.
