So here it is, I own an Acer E1-510-2611 and I updated from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. After that, the nightmare begins. I can no longer restart my computer; the screen stays black for 10 minutes before seeing the "Acer explore beyond limits" logo, and then it takes another 10 minutes before I can see my profile and enter my password to finally get to my desktop. In the beginning of this problem, I could at least access my desktop (it was extremely slow), but now nothing happens, it stays on the black screen with a small wheel that keeps turning endlessly. After browsing various forums, I suspect it's an operating system issue. My computer does not have a CD drive, so I am downloading the programs to recreate a Windows 8 installation program on my USB stick. I go into my system setup, try to change the boot order to start my USB stick first so that the Windows installation program runs, but nothing works. I have put the USB HDD first (I also have USB FDD and USB CDROM) I don't know what to do anymore??? On forums, I read things about BIOS but I don't know what that is... I had episodes of "no bootable device" hard drive but that's not happening anymore... I don't even know what the problem is.
And today it's a blue screen that opens with the message:
'' Recovery, Your PC could not start correctly. '' .... with the error Error 0xc0000001 (SEE PHOTO)
I don't know what to do anymore...
A huge thanks!

No, the screen is still and always on the Acer explore beyond limits. No matter how much I click F12 and Esc, nothing happens... The only way I can access the Boot Menu is by waiting for the download to fail and bring me back to the "Recovery, Your PC couldn't start properly." page, and then I can finally make a choice and go to the Boot menu...
Press F2 at startup and choose setup,
in the menus select MAIN
check if "F12 boot menu" is enabled [enabled]
==>save & exit
Restart and access the boot menu by pressing F12

If he tells you right off the bat that there’s a problem with the HDD, it’s generally going to fail. I wouldn't take the risk of trying to recover it, even if of course there's a way to try to recondition it with a program like gpart.
But honestly, with the price of HDDs nowadays, I wouldn't waste my time on that. You can already get small 320 gig drives new for around €20.
