Hello everyone,

As stated in the title of the post, I would like to know if it is possible to "extend" an RJ45 cable, please? I saw that some people have already soldered two cables together, which I think I could manage to do. Others used "terminal blocks," and I believe there is even a special cable to take the RJ45 and "give it back" on the other end (like female to female, I don't know what it's called ^^).

It's a cable that runs through a wall to connect a TV to the box, which are in two different rooms. My cable is only 10 meters long, so I'm a bit stuck ;).

If you could help me, it would be really kind of you. Thank you in advance for your response.

Best regards, Paco.

    Hello,

Solution 1: buy a cable of the right length

Solution 2: buy an RJ45 coupler like this one or that one

Solution 3: soldering two cables will only bring you troubles because the exposed wires will no longer be insulated and will pick up all the interference in your environment

Alright, that works ^^. Thank you very much!
I will go for the second solution since the maximum they had at Darty was 10 meters of cable.
      Thank you.
