Hello everyone!
I have a little problem, I have a Samsung Windows laptop without a CD drive and I want to install the Canon printer using the setup on the official website http://canon.com/ijsetup.
I downloaded the file win-mg3550-1_1-mcd.exe and when I try to open it I get this error message from WinZip Self-Extractor:
can't create output file:
C:\Users\PCSABR~1\AppData\Local\Temp\Win-mg3500-1_1-mcd\MSETUP4.EXE
Do I absolutely have to do it with the CD? (I don't have a CD drive on my laptop)
Can someone please help me!
Thanks

yes but my computer doesn't have a CD drive that's the problem...
And I didn't receive a USB cable with the printer...
I will contact customer support to sort all of this out.
In any case, thank you for your help!

I wasn't talking about using the CD to install your printer... but about reading the content on another device; there should be documentation on that CD... if there's none on paper... otherwise, the user manual is certainly downloadable from the manufacturer's website..
A USB cable is available in supermarkets...

Hello,
What version of your Windows OS is it..?
WinZip may not be present on your PC... or it is corrupted..
Or is your disk full..?
Or is the file you downloaded corrupted..??
It has nothing to do with whether there is a CD or not..

I am logged in as an admin on my PC.
I cannot change the destination by clicking on browse because the error message appears and prevents me from doing anything else.
However, I downloaded another file from the Canon website for USB or wireless connection to the printer.
The file opens fine with WinZip, but that's another issue; my printer is not detectable.
I think I need to configure the printer first, but the WinZip problem is not resolved...
I am lost!!

On the CD, there should be documentation in PDF format for the installation...
And, I believe these printers must be connected via USB cable during the configuration installation... then you can remove it....
Note that the Wi-Fi connection is not made directly with your PC... but PC--->Router--->printer, so the router must be on, otherwise, no printer.

Under Windows 8.1, WinZip is included... if you haven't broken it....
But if we read the error message carefully, it doesn't say that it can't decompress the file,... It only says it can't create the output file..
So it remains possible that it's a permissions issue... Are you installing this file as "Administrator"...???
You can also change the destination folder at the time of extraction, it shows you a window.. next to it, there's "Browse", click on it and give it another destination folder that isn't blocked..
And what is the printer seller doing, apart from pocketing the commission..??
