Duplicates with Ccleaner

Solved

Hello...

I opened Cleaner to delete duplicates, but I don't know what to do: it found several pages, and each file is there 2 times, even 4 times... quite logical since they are duplicates, but still....!
That's why my question is, knowing that it proposes to delete the selection: should I check ONLY ONE line for a folder and leave one, or should I check both, which makes me think that this file will disappear entirely, risking that it will be missing afterwards?
Thank you for your advice...
Best regards,
See you later
Up!
PS: I must emphasize that I have no problems with the machine, neither space nor functioning...

Electrician: in the left column, you have "search for duplicates"... click on it and see what it will find for you... and especially what to do with it afterwards... thanks!
PS: E.T agrees with me that it's not very clear!
E.T: thanks for your reply, I will check your link... I will come back and say afterwards...

Hello...

I admit I don't understand the transfer of my topic... I thought I had placed it in "software," didn't I?
Thanks for clarifying...
Best regards,

PS: Unless you thought I was talking about duplicates on CCM?

Are you talking about the CCM page or the lines of CCleaner on your PC?

I only talk about my problem to know what to delete from the list of duplicates I get with the Ccleaner analysis... the duplicates on CCM, I report quite a few, but, this time, it has nothing to do with it......

ok,

in your place, I would completely uninstall Ccleaner and reinstall it from its dedicated site!

just one thing:

the latest version of Ccleaner (since version 5.*) offers software monitoring and starts at Windows startup (paid service) so once installed, go to the settings to disable everything!

Good evening, I have the same issue and the solutions I found were not very convincing, which made me give up :-( out of fear of deleting something I shouldn't!
But... instead I'm using this one=>https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/8251-duplicate-cleaner-free/ very simple and above all fast and effective (in my opinion)
maybe not the answer you were hoping for, but that's all I have (...)

best regards.

Take a screenshot of what you see, I think I found a solution :-)

I have the latest version freshly installed

ah, ok,

the files are duplicated, but their location is changing!

for me, it's normal and there's no need to worry :-)

So: do not worry = do not remove anything or on the contrary, remove everything, namely the 2 lines for the same file?

On my PC, I have 3 places where I find files:

Windows_old: the old Windows installation ==> I keep it because Windows can be rolled back in case of problems!

program files/(x86) common files/: common files for users and where the software is installed

program files/common files/: a copy of the files for other users!

So for the software to work under other sessions, they need to be kept!

This is my point of view, it's up to you to decide whether you want to delete them or not!

Well... you know what: Duplicate Cleaner found about 9000 for me; it's true that it's very fast and, at first glance, more explicit than CCleaner for this specific task... BUT since I don't know what problems it might cause me by messing around in there, I'll let it go for the moment, and I'll come back to it if one day I run out of space, but well... in principle, that shouldn't happen to me, as I'm not a hoarder!
Thanks anyway and have a good evening to both of you!
Best regards,
See you later
