The slab would be defective.

  Out of a sense of responsibility, it would be wise to check that the graphics card drivers are up to date, but I tend to agree with François that the issue might be with the screen.

Try using another screen and see if the problem persists.

I think like transat and francoins, it smells like a dying screen panel...
It might still work for years, but your line will remain and could get bigger, even turning red or yellow
Better to see a repairman instead of a graphic design forum
Changing a panel with labor costs around 200 euros or 120 if you want an Asian counterfeit on rue Montgallet that will last a maximum of 2 or 3 years.
