Disable formulas on Google Sheets

Hello everyone,

I've been using Google Sheets for a little while, and I’d like to know if anyone knows how to remove automatic formula formatting. Let me explain: I don't use Google Sheets for calculations but rather for the table aspect. I need to write in certain cells "+ something" but every time I do, it writes "ERROR!" after I’ve typed what I wanted. Is there a way to write this something without Google Sheets interpreting it as a formula?

Thanks in advance,
Kogani.

Hello.

On Google Sheets as on any spreadsheet, any entry starting with a + or - sign is analyzed as a formula, and an = sign is added at the beginning of the input.
If you want it to be text, just start your input with an apostrophe [' + something] instead of [+ something].

Furthermore, if you never enter formulas, and if you don’t need to use filters or search functions, you might as well work on a word processor; not on a spreadsheet ...

Best regards.

Hello,

or select the entire sheet (or a range of columns) and set the cells to Text format.
