Flashing orange light

Hello,

I'm writing to you today because I'm starting to feel a bit desperate... I have a Toshiba Satellite S955 (a real piece of junk, this laptop) and for some time now, I've been having issues when I want to charge the battery. In fact, I'm unable to recharge it, the battery light is blinking and the laptop indicates that the computer is plugged in but not charging. As many suggested online, I tried removing the battery, pressing the power button for a moment, then putting the battery back and plugging in the laptop. It worked a few times, then it stopped working. I bought a new battery because I knew mine wasn't in great shape anymore. As soon as I had the new battery, I didn't have any problems until today... I admit I don't really know what to do anymore. What could be causing this problem? The laptop works perfectly when it's plugged in, so I don't think it's an issue with the cable...

Thanks in advance!

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 45.0.2454.85

    Hi,

To answer your question: the light blinks when I plug in the laptop and the battery is in the laptop. When I plug in the laptop without the battery, there’s no problem, meaning the light doesn’t blink and the laptop works normally. It has never suddenly turned off or anything like that.

I checked out your link and I admit I'm not too sure that the issue is related to the motherboard... If there was a short circuit in the motherboard, I would have problems even when the PC is plugged in without the battery, right? I must admit I don’t know much about this, so maybe I’m wrong.

Moreover, while removing the battery to try to fix my problem, I noticed there was some kind of brownish sticky liquid where I insert the battery... I don’t know where it’s coming from or what it could be, though. That said, I’m pretty sure it’s not from the battery, which is at most two weeks old. Does anyone know what it is and if it’s dangerous? I should mention there isn’t much, maybe two or three small spots.

    Thanks!
