Hello,

I would like to replace the screen of my laptop because it is dead.
However, I do not know whether to follow the reference of the screen itself or that of the computer. When looking online for either, I do not get the same results.
My PC is an Asus Model N76VM-V2G-T1042V (you can see it here: http://www.laptopspirit.fr/114160/asus-n76vm-v2g-t1042v-173-full-hd-mat-i7-ivy-bridge-8-go-gt-630m-a-799e-vente-flash.html )

and the reference of the screen is: N173HGE-L11

Thank you very much,

Paul

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 39.0

    Hello,

    So it's a 17.3"...??

In my opinion, to avoid missing the mark, you need to find the same one that was originally installed...

So you take out the old one from the laptop's lid and you'll find the reference written on the back of the screen... Sometimes, there are several references... the ASUSS one and the one from the screen manufacturer... it's the latter that you need to take, as it will work with several brands of laptops and the options are broader..

This brand is often Samsung or Philips; you can easily recognize their logos and the reference is next to it... you can find it at Hexapart and also Cdiscount, .. and others. in matte or glossy..

One point to watch out for is the number of contacts on the panel's connector, and its position, for example at the bottom left.. otherwise, you'll need the extender..

There you go, that's part of my activities..

    Good evening

Thank you very much for your response.
As I mentioned, I have a reference for the slab that I indicated, I hope that’s the right one; otherwise, here’s the photo:

So should I follow this reference rather than the one for the PC?

The connector is on the left, but counting the number of connections is not easy, lol
    But I would say 40

    And yes, it’s definitely a 17.3" ;-)

    Thank you very much

Yes, that’s right, it’s a Chimei/Innolux manufacturer from China, with LEDs integrated on the sides.

Cdiscount seemed to have the best price for me..

To count the contacts, you take a good grip and with a sewing pin, you slowly move along the row of contacts and you count the clicks... there are better ways, but they are more complicated.

You can also do it while watching the movement with a watchmaker’s loupe.

There you go, good luck, don’t break it during installation, but it’ll be fine.

    Hello,

Thank you again for your response.

What is the difference between this one: https://www.cdiscount.com/informatique/ecran-pc/dalle-ecran-17-3-pour-chi-mei-n173hge-l11-rev-c1/f-107100401-vis6037658186392.html?idOffre=35240677#mpos=1|mp
and this one: https://www.cdiscount.com/informatique/ecran-pc/ecran-dalle-led-chimei-n173hge-l11-rev-c1-ou-compa/f-107100401-chi3208184775289.html?idOffre=42887765#mpos=4|mp? (Apart from the price ^^)
So, are these good? There are others but without the end of the reference which is: REV.C1 so they are not good?

    Thank you very much,

    Best regards,

    Paul

For me, there is no difference between these two screens... Except for the margin taken by the seller...
Cdiscount is just a reseller for "ProLCD" at 134 and for "Visio Direct" at 79

-- These panels have a flexible printed circuit board on the back, with chips for the dematrixing of the display which is controlled by a manufacturer's "Firmware"
REV C1 is the revision index of the said Firmware, there is also REV C2 and also no REV at all... maybe it’s the original without improvements; maybe it’s not mentioned because it is deemed unimportant.

I don’t know what these improvements are about, but I don’t think they are huge...??

    the top at €735 https://www.amazon.fr/Samsung-Panel-N173HGE-L11-FULLHD-38018299/dp/B00ICFM3CI/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1440877188&sr=8-8&keywords=n173hge-l11

As you can see... you can find anything..

You bear the name of a God who is afraid of nothing, so that helps.

Good for you, it’s another experience... That quite a few people dare to confront.

      A+++
