With or without a satellite dish

Hello

I just acquired a giant HD plus 2500 decoder and some people tell me that it works without a satellite dish, so only with an internet connection, is that true?
Otherwise, how do I connect it?

    The legal reception of satellite channels is done through an HD satellite terminal labeled Fransat or Canal Ready with a satellite dish or a flat antenna (e.g. Selfsat)... Another solution is a satellite television set.
