Hello, I find this scandalous given the price at which the television is sold. We pay the same price as an Android but completely restricted. Do an update with Android or the Philips store with Disney, Canal+, Paramount. But honestly, what a ridiculous idea to make TVs under Saphir completely empty of apps—definitely a money issue once again. It's always the consumer who gets screwed. Sorry, but I'm completely disgusted.
I agree, it's downright outrageous, bordering on dishonest on Philips' part not to mention this shameful limitation on this low-end OS that is of little use. I fell for it when I ordered the 24PHS6808 TV which I returned as soon as I discovered this limitation, and the message really needs to be conveyed to never buy Philips TVs using this OS, unless you don’t want to use it as a smart TV.
I don't understand Philips' strategy (or lack thereof). They don't even sell at a lower price than the competition. However, there are no issues with Philips Android TVs, I'm even a fan of these TVs with Ambilight, I have one that I am very happy with.
