Unable to crop in the bleed area. ISSUE

Hello,

I am using Indesign CC 2015 and when importing a PDF file, I have a recurring issue: "Cannot crop to the bleed area. The bleed area is empty or not defined."

Does anyone have a solution?

I do have a workaround, which is converting my file to JPEG, but I would prefer to keep my PDF file options (for example, this allows me to edit the original with vectors in Illustrator...)

Thank you for your help.

Configuration: Mac OS X (10.10) / Firefox 39.0

You can modify the cropping option when importing the PDF file into InDesign.
To do this, check "Show Import Options" in the "Import" window.

Depending on the case, I personally choose "Crop" or "Media", with a preference for Media as it allows adjusting the import to the trim marks and guides of InDesign.

I prefer to manage the bleed area myself rather than letting the software do it.
