Hello
The base word is flashing on the screen even though the base unit is properly connected
and the cables are correctly plugged in.
Following the instructions in the manual, I tried to register the handset.
I entered the PIN code and followed the instructions, the "Register Base" message flashed on the screen for a very short time, then "Register Handset" reappeared followed by the flashing of the base.
What should I do?
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
Did you follow the procedure correctly... after entering the PIN code, there is an operation to perform on the base
See page 8 of the PDF below.
Registration of additional handsets

Thank you for responding so quickly.
I have followed the procedure well; in fact, I have repeated it several times without success. -
Gigaset, the phone is between 2 and 4 years old and the breakdown occurred suddenly without anything particular?

The breakdown occurred very suddenly, without anything in particular.
The phone was purchased in 2007.-
Oh really? One that lasted longer than the others...
So 8 years, which is not bad.
For the rest, just do a search on the internet and the Gigaset range which is, unfortunately, known for the poor quality of its components that age badly.
The failure is always the same, suddenly, the base no longer recognizes the phones and vice versa, for no particular reason, and it is impossible to redo the "pairing."
Having experienced this failure on three different Gigaset models and having scoured the internet to realize that this is the disease of this range, I must admit that I regretfully dropped the brand. And yet my last "trio" series was high-end, but it didn't last more than 4 years.
No solution, and an acquaintance who knows a bit about electronics disassembled the last two and found nothing in particular (overloaded components, etc.), except that some components are simply "out."
Even more unfortunate that the Gigaset series is better designed (ergonomically speaking) than the competition, but the hundreds of testimonies regarding the series and always the same failure lead to the conclusion that Siemens does like everyone else, subcontracting to anyone and any way, as long as it's cheaper with the result being what it is.
So your phone is just good to throw away at least the base, and finding a 100% compatible one, even from them, good luck.
