Hello,
The 2 units are continuously displaying "Base". I put 2 new (rechargeable) batteries in the unit that is normally located on the base

Hello
You simply need to re-associate or re-register the handsets with the base
See the notice below on page 25 paragraph
"Manual registration of the Gigaset C45 handset on the Gigaset C455 base"
