Hello,
I changed the handset batteries, because the base seems to work, but when the phone rings I have no dial tone and I don’t hear anything.
However, if I call my mobile, it rings.
I don’t know what to do.
Thank you for your response.

    Let's summarize

If you pick up the handset after an incoming call, you hear nothing, correct?
If you pick up the handset to place an outgoing call, you have a dial tone and the called phone rings? Correct?

If yes for the outgoing call, it rings and if you pick up on the mobile, do you have the audio?

Have you tested: turn off the base, 1 minute (unplug the power) and then put it back, wait for the base-phone pairing, then try again?

Hello, thanks for replying so quickly.
When I pick up to call, there is no dial tone either, but if I dial my mobile number, it rings.

I want to point out that I tested what you said and it doesn’t work, in my case.

you do not answer all the questions. when the phone rings and you pick up, test with someone, for example, do you have sound? on one side or the other?

I have sound on the portable handset, but nothing on the fixed telephone base handset.
The handset rings when you press the base key to locate it.
        In hands-free mode, no sound.
We no longer have the manual, as the device is very old.
Thanks for your help, but I can’t find what to do.

If the touch buttons respond, then the Base communication is ok and the handset (keys) is functional.

Have you tested in hands-free mode? On speakerphone, then?
also see your manual for the sound settings.

    Adjust the ringtone timbre

    Adjust a beep (warning)
    If you set the function
you will hear only a brief discreet signal in case of a call.

Adjust the volume of the earpiece of the
    handset / speakerphone
    You have the choice between
3 volumes for the handset earpiece and 5 volumes for the hands-free speaker
    - including during a call.

Thank you, I tried all that, nothing works.
I looked at the manual and can't find anything that matches.
I don't want to change phones and hope to find the solution.
I don't trust the repairers who will tell me it’s ruined.
      Have a good day.

I finally bought a Gigaset 405 for €30, because no one repairs them. They don't even try.
I’m not throwing it away, just in case.
Thanks again, it’s nice this kind of exchange.

You're welcome, no they don't repair, the labor price would quickly exceed the price of the used device.
Sometimes it's possible to find people who repair, in exchange for services (no money, it's an exchange) that's the principle of the "repair café" but it doesn't exist everywhere.

See https://www.repaircafe.org/en/ For France but it exists a bit everywhere.
