Question

Hello. I ordered a HooToo® USB 3.0 7-Port powered hub + 2 charging ports (for iPhone, Android smartphone and tablet) Compatible with Windows XP/Vista/7/8. In the manual it mentions pressing the start button, I don’t see where it is and moreover when I connect it it asks for a driver that Windows can't find; What to do? Please help. Regards, jcl

have you checked these different points?
1. Support for Windows 98 / Me / 2000 / XP / Vista / 7/8. Mac OS X or above. Linux 3.0 or higher. Not supported Windows 8.1 2.
2. Some USB 3.0 peripherals require a direct connection to 3.0 / 2.0 host ports, including some USB 3.0 hard drives.
3. Do not support wireless 2.4 GHz devices, such as wireless mice or keyboards.
4. Charging ports do not support data transfer and USB 3.0 ports do not support charging.
5. Does not support iMac mini, Mac Mini and MacBook Pro with Retina Display. iMac with 27" Retina is currently not recommended for use with this product due to unstable performance.

Good evening, my PC has Windows 7, so in the references of this hub, thanks JCL. I have a 4-port hub that works very well without a driver, and when I put this one in place, it recognizes nothing. I'm starting to lose my temper.

Is it at least recognized as a peripheral in Windows? (do you have the sound that corresponds to plugging in a device?) Could it be a power supply issue despite the wall adapter? Curious that it works on 4 ports and not on 7, but there is also the "charging port" side, which poses a problem, because if the PC doesn't have the original software to power those charging ports, it won't work..

Good evening again. I tried on several USB ports of my desktop and on one connector Windows searched for a driver which found nothing, and if we go to the Hootoo site it's the Bérizina again, another Chinese-American site. Anyway, thanks for your help.

re
that would corroborate what I said above, on laptops you have the charging connector option, which is what allows charging a peripheral, even a PC in sleep or powered off
that does not exist on a desktop PC, unless you download a dedicated application (but which one, I don't know)
and I think it is this application, or the driver for this application that Windows cannot find
on my Asus laptop it is called usb charger plus, but I don't know about desktops!

thank you but my PC boots directly so I don’t have the F1, etc. options. I’m going to call the PC assembler. I bought it assembled on request from “my custom PC.” Thanks again for your help. Best regards, jcl

re
you need to boot into the bios
when the pc powers on, and before Windows starts, there is a first screen where you must have the commands to access the bios
in general it's "delete" or a function key (f10, f7, f8...) but it can be anything depending on the brands
once that command is found, restart the pc again, tapping on that key without holding it down, and the bios will appear
don't forget if you make adjustments to validate the changes before exiting
