Messenger won't download

Hello,
I uninstalled Messenger a month ago, then I wanted to download it again but nothing happens, it gets stuck... Please help

    go to settings - then apps - look for the Play Store and click on it - click on clear cache - exit settings and launch the Play Store, chances are it will work
