Rename a Title in the Properties

Hello, I have a video that has a certain name in my file, but as soon as I open it on VLC or another player, its title is different. I went to the properties of the video and in the DETAILS tab the video indeed has a different title than the one that appears in my file. We cannot change the title of the video in the properties at all. How can I do this, please? I tried to modify it using Windows Media Player, but when I go back to the details, it still has the other name... it hasn't changed anything...

Hello,

So, what bothers you about that?

By that, I mean what would you like to do?
For example, would you like to change the name of the movie to match the detail in the properties?

Best regards

Hello, it bothers me because it annoys me to see that the title doesn't match. I know I'm neurotic, and it's also out of curiosity to know how it can be corrected. I like to know. Yes indeed, I would like the title of the DETAIL to be the same as the one in the file, and since the file title is the real title, that's the one I see in the properties that I want to modify because it doesn't match the film at all.

To change (the title in the properties is the real Title), use the F2 key to rename (or right-click --> Rename) your file simply. It is not possible to do it directly in the file properties.
To explain, the file title does not always correspond with the file tag.

If you want to do the opposite, then use for example XMedia Recode and under the Tag tab, put the name you want to have as Title.
Set Copy for Video and Audio, after indicating the Container (AVI, MP4, MKV, or other) to do a direct stream copy, thus without re-encoding.

I don't want to change the title by right-clicking; it doesn't help me, I know, and that's exactly the title I want to keep. I didn't understand: is it with xmedia record that I can change the title that appears in the properties details, is that it?

Yes, to set XMedia to French if it isn't already: Options --> Preferences --> Language --> French.
Then, under Video and Audio, set it to Mode, Stream Copy.
Next, under the Tag tab, in Title, enter the title you want.
Finally, press the green Tasks button and start Convert by clicking on it. Be careful not to place the original file in the same folder as the converted file, otherwise there will be a "_1" at the end to differentiate them, as two files cannot have the same name!

Test example on an AVI file:
a) Initially, I have a file "TOTO_a_la_plage.avi" but its tag is "TOTO_a_la_mer"

b) I modify its tag to match the name of the video

c) I get a file whose name and tag match (I changed its name because I stored them in the same folder)
