Hello everyone, My (15.6 inch) laptop screen has recently died :( So I want to replace the screen myself, but there are two types of 15.6 screens for laptops: those with a 2.5 cm connector slot (see image) and those with a 3.5 cm connector slot. The problem is that I don't know the name and type of screen. Even searching on Google for "3.5 cm connector" doesn't help. Could you clarify for me the type of screen with a 3.5 cm connector :sarcastic: thanks :wahoo:

What you can also do to make it cheaper is to buy a 40-pin LED panel (so about a 2.5cm connector) and also buy a CCFL to LED adapter cable to connect it to your PC. It will be cheaper and you will certainly have better image quality in the end.
Basically, you should expect to spend 60 euros for the LED panel and between 10 and 20 euros for the CCFL to LED adapter cable. However, be careful, CCFL to LED adapter cables are not always very reliable (check with the seller in that case).

Hello
What's the brand and model of your laptop?
Because you can't just put any screen on a laptop.

Hi,
There are two types of screens for your PC model.
A standard LED screen and another one with "1ccfl" backlighting via inverter (green rectangular circuit board beneath the screen)
Can you give me the reference for your screen?
It is located on the back and starts with a series of letters followed by the size of your screen. For example, references for a 15.6 screen: LTN156... or LP156... or N156
With this reference, I will be able to determine the specifications of the panel.

It's from the brand LG and the reference is LP156WH1 15.6 HD and (TL) (C1)
I'm wondering if I should buy exactly the same one (which would be annoying given the price of the screen) or if I can buy a similar one but from a different, cheaper brand
PS: On the screen, there is a connector slot that is 3.5 cm and two wires, black and red, that plug into a circuit board.
This one would be compatible https://login.aliexpress.com/?from=sm&return_url=http://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1441718042.html

Hello,
the panel you are referring to in your first message is the same as the other one, the only difference is the position of the 30-pin data connector!
You have the connector at the top, bottom, left, or right!
So there are 4 possible positions with this type of 15.6" panel!
In terms of quality, you can have either the glossy or matte panel!
If your laptop's cable allows for the connection (considering the length of the cable)
the panel you are interested in is this one:
15.6" LED Screen Dell Inspiron 1545, glossy, connector at the bottom left
Size and resolution: 15.6" LED WXGA 1366x768

ok you have an old version (1ccfl).
According to your reference, you have a screen with the connector (view from the back) on the top right with 30 pins.
1CCFL screens, like your original screen, are rare and more expensive since the main production lines have been stopped for a while.
Here is the link to an eBay listing for the model that corresponds to your screen:
