Update of Golden Interstar terminals
I have a Golden Interstar DVB T/S 8300 CI Premium receiver and I would like to update its software with the latest version. From the manufacturer's site, I downloaded the latest binary file from 04/07/07 as well as the download program 1.9.5. There are no text files or anything else to know the procedure. I connected the RS232 serial ports with a straight cable (not crossed); then I launched the software after properly selecting the COM port and the communication speed (115KBaud on both sides). I started the transmission... but nothing happens. Can someone enlighten me? Thank you

you need to use a crossover cable (null-modem)

- disconnect the receiver (unplug it)

- connect the cable to the pc and receiver

- open the download program
select the output port (com1 normally) and the release version of the patch

- click on connect

- then power on the receiver

Yes, you can use another device; it's like copying and pasting. YOU TRANSFER THE DATA from the one that is already flashed, no risk involved. WARNING, THERE IS A GOLDEN (latest version) with a USB port; it's more convenient, you no longer need a cable, just a USB flash drive. See you later.

I think the update went well, the receiver restarted by itself at the end.   But here's my problem: I plugged it into my friend's satellite dish and I did a channel search, but they're all encrypted except NT1, the Canal mosaic, BFM TV, Arte, France 24, and a few other French and foreign channels...   Can someone tell me if there’s something I might have forgotten to do?? Does the decryption happen instantly when I change channels, or do I need to wait??
