Yellow star favorite disappeared

Hello,
since yesterday evening, the 'yellow star favorites' has disappeared from my taskbar. Could you please let me know how to fix this issue? Thank you for your response.

    which browser are you using?
    on Chrome, you need to go to the settings and check the box "always show bookmarks" again
    note that the star is no longer yellow but transparent and is located to the right of the search bar

      Thank you for your response. I am using IE Google Chrome
      : the box was indeed checked. But still no star, you tell me it is transparent: that's new... yesterday afternoon it was still yellow!! How can I add a page to my favorites???

    I also performed the analysis with Malwarebytes and deleted all the results found... However, I can't uninstall Google Chrome!!! Is there no other trick to make this bookmark star come back???

    internet explorer or google chrome
    don't confuse it with the homepage! = the page that displays at the start
    what operating system are you on? xp? w7? w8? w8.1?

    there may be one, but I've covered all my knowledge
    when there are bugs like that, I check
    1) my default browser (some software tries to change this)
    2) my default search ENGINE
    3) malwarebytes scan
    4) I uninstall (restart the PC) and reinstall
    for chrome: start-<control panel->programs and features-> select google chrome and remove it, then reinstall
    download it preferably directly from the publisher

      My search engine is Google Chrome and my browser is also Google Chrome.
      I can't uninstall Google Chrome: there's a message telling me to close the windows... when all the windows are closed!!
      Good evening.
      The night might bring back the Star... lol!!! I'll pick this up again tomorrow.

    Hello,

    Click on the three horizontal lines in the top right corner.
    Click on Settings.
    At the bottom of the page, click on Show advanced settings....
    Go to the Reset browser settings category.
    Click on Reset browser settings.

    NOTE: The default values for your browser's settings will be restored. Your homepage, the New Tab page, and your search engine will be reset, your extensions will be disabled (you will need to re-enable them), and your tabs will no longer be pinned. Other temporary data or cached data, such as cookies, site and content data, will also be cleared. However, your bookmarks and saved passwords will not be deleted or modified.

    You will also notice that the checkbox "Help us improve Google Chrome by reporting your current settings" is checked, which means you are sending your Chrome settings to Google anonymously. If you leave it checked, you are allowing Google to analyze your settings to improve Google Chrome; of course, you can uncheck the box if you do not want to send your settings to Google.

    First of all, it’s not normal that you can’t uninstall Chrome!!!
    As for your star, a solution (among others) has been proposed

      I followed your link, then I did:
      1) Type this in the address bar: chrome://flags/#enhanced-bookmarks-experiment
      2) In the Enable Enhanced Bookmarks section, click on the dropdown list and select Disabled
      That's it, my star is back!!!

    For its uninstallation, I think there are some open processes that he needs to close in the task manager ;)

      yeah, I think so too! But uninstalling unless .... ? might not be necessary right away? Let's see how it goes. Especially since you're suggesting a reset, which I don't think is inappropriate :-)

    Yes, I think the same, uninstalling just for this problem is too drastic.

    @alodidou :

    Close Google Chrome
    Right-click on your Windows taskbar
    Click on Start Task Manager
    In the Processes tab, find the Chrome.exe that may be present.
    Select them one by one by clicking on them once.
    Click on End Process for each of them.

    Then you can uninstall Google Chrome.

    click on the three horizontal lines at the top right of the search bar
    locate the line "favorites" (4th line) click on the arrow at the end of this line
    in the submenu that opens, check "show the favorites bar"
    then in the settings tab -> appearance
    check both boxes "home button and favorites bar"
    if you were using Internet Explorer before or if IE was still your "default" browser
    then you need to "import" the favorites
    but you should see a transparent star at the end of the search bar.

      sorry, but still no arrow (transparent or yellow) yet I followed all your advice to the letter, even the import of favorites... The problem is still not resolved!!!
