Hello,
I have a problem with displaying images that I've inserted into Word. I've been using Word for a long time and have been embedding images with my text, but a few days ago, every Word document I open to make a change and save, it immediately loses the images.
Instead of the images, I get the message: "The part of the image with the relationship ID rId8 could not be found in the file."

What worries me is that the size of my Word file is much smaller now, so I’m afraid it has really lost the images and that it will be impossible to retrieve them. However, it seems to me that the images are indeed saved in the Word file, there's no need to have them alongside, right?!
I can't seem to find a solution by googling my problem.
If you have a tip, or simply tell me that it's hopeless, and that I should come to terms with this tragic issue!
Thank you

Hello,
you probably copied/pasted your images directly, without inserting them properly or even using a special paste to ensure that the image is embedded in the document and not linked, for example, especially for images taken from the web. You may have worked on a USB stick that was ejected too early. In short, your file must be damaged.
Try renaming your document from .docx to .zip. Then double-click on the zip and first check in the "word" folder and then "media" if your images are there.
