Hello, I wanted to ask a question because I installed The Sims Pet Stories and when I tried to play, there was an error message (unable to activate u). How can I fix this problem? Thank you

I had a problem with Sims Animal Stories. I contacted support: https://www.ea.com/fr-fr
Step 1: they asked me to uninstall any burning software with a virtual cd/dvd drive.
I didn't have any of that but I removed all burning software without success.
Then they told me to go to the registry: key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices\
There, I had to remove all the drives (G: H: etc ...) that appeared twice: none
Finally, the last solution, the correct one, was to remove all keys from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices\ that are not associated with a drive letter (a dosdevices) and there: miracle, after reboot, it works.
(They had names like \??\Volume{0776bb41-9f14-11dc-9367-806d6172696f}
If you are not used to manipulating the registry, a good thing to do is to backup the key you are going to modify in a reg file: select “MountedDevices” in the left pane: file - export. Then the created file can be double-clicked to restore the keys as they were before (just in case...)

I'll try to explain step by step what you need to do:
1) Start menu -> click on "Run"
2) type the word: regedit then press the <<Enter> key on the keyboard
You explore the registry like Windows Explorer shows files on the hard drive
3) By clicking on the + signs next to the folders, you open the corresponding folder. Open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder, then the SYSTEM subfolder, and select (by clicking on it) the MountedDevices subfolder
4) Now we're going to back up this folder in case what we do next causes problems. Right-click on MountedDevices and choose "export". Give the file a name ("save mounteddevices.reg" for example) and save it in a place you know (desktop, my documents, ...). If you encounter any problems later, double-clicking on this file will restore what was there before.
5) Now open (with the +) the MountedDevices folder
6) You should see two types of keys in the right window. Those in the format:
\DosDevices\C : and those in the format:

Then delete all those that are in the \??\Volume….. format
7) To do this, right-click on them and choose delete.
That's it, all you have to do is close the registry editor window and restart your computer,…, and check if it worked.

chapter 1/
1) Give affection to Sam
Things start off well: a few cuddles (photo n°1) on your faithful companion will suffice to satisfy this first objective.
2) Change outfit
As the game explains so well, click on the wardrobe and then on the command “Change clothes” so that Alice... changes.
3) Change look
As the game explains again so well, click on the mirror in the bathroom and then on the command “Change appearance” to redo Alice's makeup (photo n°2).
4) Fill the dog’s bowl
As indicated, head to the kitchen and click on the bowl to fill it. Take the opportunity to give Sam a little pat, it’s good for his morale and yours.
5) Scold Sam
No Sam, you don’t chew on the sofa foot! For him to learn his lesson, you have no choice but to click on it and correct him (photo n°3) by choosing “Scold for - damaging the furniture”... Poor thing! After that, don’t forget to clean up the mess while waiting for what’s next.
6) Teach Sam to come to your feet
Wait until Sam has finished any other activity and then click on him and teach him to come to your feet via the corresponding command: after a few minutes of lesson (photo n°4), Sam will have learned the command. Don’t forget to reward him properly with cuddles!
7) Welcome the visitor
Open the door and greet the ominous character who presents himself to you.
8) Ask Diana to leave
Not content with dropping by unexpectedly, Diana is almost already settling in at your place: your patience has limits, click on her and ask her kindly to leave (photo n°5) before you end up getting physical (photo n°6) and use all possible and imaginable means of exasperation to make her finally leave.
9) Push Diana with your finger
Ultimate provocation and means at your disposal to show your disdain to Diana, click on her and choose the command “fight - push with finger”. The cup will then be more than full!
10) Personal moment
It’s about letting Alice attend to her activities, much like in the classic Sims game. Don’t forget to take this opportunity to spend part of your time strengthening your bond with Sam and think about resolving the household chores. You should also expect a delivery from the delivery person who will bring you a new basket for Sam.
FOR CHAPTER 2:
1) Take Sam for a walk
After completing the morning’s essential tasks (bathroom, coffee, breakfast), Sam will ask you to go for a walk. Without hesitation, comply immediately to move on.
2) Read the newspaper
It will be brought to you during the walk: collect it on your way back (ask Alice to “bring” the newspaper) and read it on the living room sofa, it’s more comfortable anyway (photo n°7).
3) Go to the community lot
It’s quite an adventure ahead as you’ll need to take a taxi: use the phone in the kitchen to call one. Be sure to specify that several Sims will be with you, the idea is to go to the Precious playground. Don’t miss the taxi: make sure to have Alice go when you hear it honk.
4) Talk to the official
Once you arrive, enter the park and go register with the designated person.
5) Train on the TopRamp
It is located near the official’s booth: click on it to ask
Sam to go through it. Unfortunately, he won’t succeed on the first try (photo n°8) but will nonetheless be accepted into the contest.
6) Complete the registration
Return to the official’s office to finish up the paperwork definitively.
7) Chat with the participants
Go chat with the three other Sims who are training their dogs to broaden your social circle a bit.
8) Go home
Head to the taxi-phone booth (photo n°9) to leave this bunch of overly stressy trainers.
9) Invite Fleur
After lingering a bit, Alice remembers her friend Fleur: without further ado, rush to the phone to “call - sim” to invite her.
10) Welcome the guests
As soon as Fleur and her friend arrive, go “greet everyone” to let them in. Fleur will go fetch the old TopRamp lying around in her garden and bring it back to you while Alice talks to the guy Fleur wants to set her up with.
11) Train on the TopRamp
Once the guests have left, set up the TopRamp via the inventory option (photo n°10) then use it without delay with Sam until he manages to overcome it (photo n°11). You will only have to complete daily tasks until the next chapter comes.
for chapter 3:
1) Scold Sam
Sam is far from being the most obedient dog, and despite your constant reminders, he’s let loose once again: don’t let this new opportunity to notice him pass, scold him immediately.
2) Call the plumber
A disaster never comes alone, now it’s the sink that’s leaking: you have no choice but to call the plumber (photo n°12) via the repair service.
3) Welcome Thomas
Since no plumber is available, you must rely on the masterstroke that comes your way, namely the unexpected arrival of Thomas at your house: go open the door when he rings. As luck would have it, he’s a whiz with a wrench, if that’s not luck!
4) Play with Bijou
Meanwhile, Sam and Bijou have become friends (photo n°13): why not join them for some fun. Go play with your friend’s dog to advance the situation.
5) Train on the swing
Since Thomas always has his swing with him, he takes the opportunity to offer it to you. Set it up in the garden and teach Sam to use it right away. Keep up the training until he manages to overcome this obstacle (photo n°14).

for chapter 4:
1) Go shopping
As with your previous move, call a taxi: this time, only Alice will go out, to the shopping mall specifically.
2) Buy a dog magazine
Head over to one of the magazine stands and choose “buy” then select Mâtin Magazine. Alice, who is very smart, will go pay for it at the checkout on her own (photo n°15).
3) Go to the restaurant
After a long chat with Thomas, the decision is made to go grab a bite with him. Head back to the taxi phone to go to Simflouz.
4) Have lunch with Thomas
Order your seating by talking to the guy on the right of the entrance and then, when the waiter arrives, click on him and order for everyone. It’s clear that you must find the right balance between price and quality of the dish: given the heavy flirting undertones, avoid the glass of water. But do keep in mind that this is an opportunity to charm Thomas (photo n°16): so be highly mindful of your desires, indicating under the main objective.
5) Go home
Pay your bill and then get into a taxi by calling one via the taxi phone booth.
6) Clean up the mess
Sam didn’t like that you went on a flirting plan without him and made a mess at home. Click on the debris and puddles to make them disappear as quickly as they came (photo n°17).
7) Read the dog article
Take the magazine out of your inventory and place it on the coffee table to read: take this opportunity to ring Sam’s toy. Browse through the training article to find yourself on the training ground and follow the magazine's guide about the dog contest you wish to enter.
Read each page and follow their instructions (photo n°18) then call the taxi to have some free time.

1) Welcome Thomas
Thomas is at the door (photo n°19): let’s go greet him.
2) Set up the training equipment
Set up the Bondissor in the garden by selecting it from the inventory.
3) Train on the TopRamp
As the chapter title indicated, it’s about training intensively for the contest: start back with the basics on the TopRamp.
4) Train on the swing
Second trial, the swing: here too, train Sam on it several times, until the objective is validated.
5) Train on the Bondissor
Last item on which you can train Sam: the Bondissor (photo n°20). As is customary, schedule as many passes on the object as needed for your four-legged friend to become skilled enough.

I have the same problem and I called technical support, and they told me it was due to a virtual disk issue. However, even after disabling and uninstalling programs like Clone DVD or Nero, it's still not working. I seriously suggest we bombard technical support; we bought a game to use it, not to let it gather dust...

For alloallo: You don't need The Sims 2 to play The Sims Pet Stories.
For Laïka: I don't remember which park you're talking about, but one thing is simple, when you don't know how to achieve a goal or a want of your sims, left-click on the box that represents the want and a window will open showing you how to do it.
