Hello,
I am a student and I just bought a PC this weekend. I realized that there were no word processing applications installed.
Unfortunately, I don't have an internet connection at home except on my smartphone.
I come from the island of Réunion, and here the region provides a laptop (called the POP) in addition, but it is very restricted in terms of freedom. This computer is now 4 years old, and I tried to transfer OpenOffice from my old laptop to the new one but without success.
I would like to know if there is a possibility to install a word processor (Word or OpenOffice) and a good free antivirus without an internet connection?

Thank you in advance...

    Good evening
If internet access is possible through another PC, you need to download the installation file.
    Open Office to install
    Installation tutorials
then transfer it via a USB stick to the regional PC

If the PC is restricted and does not allow the installation of a program, look into LibreOffice Portable, which does not require installation.
    Download the compressed file (zip).
    LibreOffice download
Once saved in a folder, select the file>right click>extract all
Once decompressed, launch LibreOffice by clicking on LibreOfficePortable.exe

      Good evening,
but how can I download and install these programs if I don't have internet access on any of the PCs?
I already have LibreOffice pre-installed on my region PC, but I can't extract it from the PC via a USB drive and install it on my new PC.

Maybe download with the smartphone and transfer with a cable and USB key, but LibreOffice is 100MB and OpenOffice is 120MB
or ask a kind soul to download.

I'm trying to do this but it's taking more than 6 hours to download, and it's using all my internet connection available on my smartphone.
Thank you anyway, I think I'll look for free Wi-Fi access.
      Have a good evening.

        Hello

Thank you anyway, I think I'll look for free wi-fi access.

That seems to me the simplest option. :-)
