Hello,
My e-reader has just completely frozen on a file deletion screen. Nothing is responding, neither the touchscreen nor the power button. And of course, when I connect it to my computer, absolutely nothing happens.
Kobo doesn't lack humor in its online help: in the section "Your e-reader won't turn on or off", it wisely advises "Turn off and then turn on your e-reader!"
Now that’s effective help!!!
Followed by "If your screen is frozen, slide the power button to the right and hold it in position for 10 seconds. Your e-reader should turn off." The thing is, it's a button you press, not something you can slide!
In short, it’s all complete nonsense and I'm completely at a loss (and very disappointed) regarding the issue!
So if anyone knows what to do to get out of this predicament, I would be veeeery grateful!
Unless I wait 3 months for the battery to drain on its own... :-((

Please be patient: I have a 10-hour time difference...

Hello. On the online help, there is also this:
Perform a basic reset
A basic reset will force your e-reader to restart correctly. In many cases, this is enough for your e-reader to function normally again.
If possible, turn off your e-reader.
Well, we're not out of the woods yet!
But try this:
Locate the small hole on the back of your e-reader.
Unfold a paperclip and slide one end into the hole.
Gently press until you feel a click. Your e-reader should restart.

On this July 16, 2016, the paperclip trick still works.
Lailandaisa, you saved me.
