Hello,
I have a Philips TV 42PFL7864H that I would like to connect to a Philips soundbar HTL3140. What are the best cables to use to get the best results? Furthermore, what is the role of the EASYLINK function?: This TV does not have an HDMI (ARC) port.
THANK YOU

Configuration: Windows XP / Chrome 40.0.2214.93

    Hello,

The simplest audio connection is via a DIGITAL COAXIAL AUDIO (SPDIF) cable

    On the TV:

    SPDIF OUT (2)

    On the soundbar:

    DIGITAL IN COAXIAL (1)

With a cable of this type: --> http://www.darty.com/nav/achat/gps_autoradio_dvd_portable/dvd_portable/cable_audio/hitachi_coaxial_1_5m.html

This cable is just one model; you might be able to find one cheaper, but be careful about the quality.

The "EASYLINK" function allows you to control several devices that have this mention.

It is indicated here: https://www.lcd-compare.com/televiseur-PHI42PFL7864H-PHILIPS-42PFL7864H.htm, in the paragraph titled "Connectivity of the PHILIPS 42PFL7864H LCD TV".

Excerpt from the Philips manual on this subject:

    Using the Philips EasyLink Function

Your television supports the Philips EasyLink function, which uses the HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) protocol. EasyLink-compatible devices connected to HDMI connectors can be controlled with a single remote.

You will need to perform audio settings on the TV, but this is indicated in its user manual.

    Regards ;-)

    Dear Customer,

The Easylink function allows you to play and pause using a single button between compatible EasyLink devices.

If you'd like more details about this feature, we recommend checking page 47 of the following manual: https://download.p4c.philips.com/files/4/42pfl7864h_12/42pfl7864h_12_dfu_fra.pdf

Did this help answer your question regarding this feature?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

    Best regards,
