Hello, for the new school year I need to create a front and back cover, but I don't know how to do it and it's stressing me out, especially since my French teacher is strict. I'm wondering what I need to do; can you help me? Thank you. Best regards.

Configuration: Windows / Mozilla 11.0

    Hello,

    Don't stress... ;)

    I don't know what software you have available, but go with the simplest option.
    If you have Word, here’s a template you can work on (even if it’s particularly ugly, the main thing is to have the project's basis).

    Go directly to page 7 (Ref: COUV_4.1.2)
    You have all the elements: the back cover, the spine (which corresponds to the thickness of the book), and the front cover.
    There is an error on the spine: the text should be oriented the other way, meaning that one should tilt their head to the left to read it and not to the right...
    Base your work on my cover for the information.

    The template:

    https://www.cjoint.com/c/DLDn7Xzu3uY

    An example of a cover in progress:

    * The front cover must include:
    At the top right (or centered according to the illustration): the author's name.
    According to the illustration, the book title in large letters (if there’s a subtitle, it should be smaller and below).
    At the bottom right: the publisher's name.

    * The spine:
    Use the publisher's name or logo.
    In landscape orientation, the book title and author’s name.

    * The back cover:
    - The book title in smaller text.
    - The synopsis: it should succinctly summarize the beginning of the book (situation, main character) to attract the reader, but without revealing the plot.

    - In a slightly smaller font, present the author.

    - Include the price
    - The 13-digit ISBN number and the barcode.
    You can generate it here: https://barcode.tec-it.com/en
    (Choose EAN/UPC and select EAN13 on the left). Paste 13 digits (but always start with 978, the code for Europe).

    - A SODIS code with 5 digits in front of the initials of the publisher (Book distribution code):

    (Just unzip and import into your file, no need to open them). Black version and white version depending on the color of your cover.

    - Use the publisher’s logo.

    - And include the copyright of the illustration of the cover and your name in graphic creation in landscape orientation.

    It may seem complicated, but if you follow all the information exactly, your teacher won’t have anything to complain about...

    And if it doesn’t work out, send it to me! ;)

    Good luck.
