Hello,
I burned out a first NC decoder due to a download it couldn't complete (according to the NC store), which caused a reboot every 10 minutes.
The seller explained to me that the only solution is to rent the latest generation decoder at an extra cost, which I refused, and I left with a new old generation decoder (hello negotiation).
The second decoder (old generation) along with my television just burned out due to the numerous successive reboots.
Has anyone else had this problem?

You've taken it one step further! We start with a breakdown, follow with a decoder and subscription change, and end with a change of internet service provider... It's funny, but... Why not just stick with the first problem?
Seriously: Indeed, solution number 2 (changing the decoder and subscription) requires you to commit for 1 year. However, there is no commitment with solutions number 1 or 3 (as there are no ISPs that require a commitment anymore, except for Numéricâble).
Which ISPs could you choose from: What other networks do you have access to? Fiber optic? You could choose Bouygues fiber (which uses Numéricâble's fiber optic and coaxial FTTLA/HFC network)... I exclude ADSL, which has an inferior network in everything (TV quality and speed) compared to Numéricâble.

So a very old SD decoder. It is supposed to work perfectly, except in case of failure... Hence only two choices:
-1) You exchange it for the same model (or another from the same ancient generation) when it fails: It’s free.
-2) You exchange it (and the modem-router-wifi as well) upon your request for a LaBox. This comes at a cost. It requires you to change your subscription. And it may require you to place your modem in the same room as the TV...
However, you say that your decoder and your TV are fried due to too many reboots. That makes no sense? Do you have regular TV, with the decoder turned off, simply its antenna output connected to the antenna input of your TV? What brand and model of TV do you have?

I confirm that the two choices you mentioned are indeed the ones that NC is proposing to me. My antique decoder seems to have to be replaced anyway as it is no longer able to accept the new updates pushed by NC.
The other unacceptable point is the increase of €20/month in the subscription price for 4 OCS channels that bring me nothing more than my current cinema package.
Additionally, NC refuses to downgrade me to a lower offer that would be cheaper than what I pay each month.
Is this really legal? Have other people encountered this issue?

Your decoder is supposed to accept all old or new updates intended for it. Are you suggesting otherwise?
You can change your subscription and your box, but that seems to be something different from your initial question. In that case, it is obviously still possible to take a cheaper subscription than the previous one. Even though the salesperson seems to be doing their job well, meaning making you believe that it’s not possible...
I didn’t understand the story about the 4 OCS channels for €20/month? It seems to me that it’s actually €13/month... Although there are common packages with other channels, I haven’t seen anything that precisely adds up to €20...

Aside from the contract issue that somewhat annoyed me, I note that my decoder should be able to accept all updates. That's where the problem lies. At first, I thought NC would send me a technician. However, their response is the sale of a new box with a new contract.
I'm afraid to re-engage with them and am actually considering switching to another ISP, as the networks are completely different.
What would you do in my place?
For your information, my old generation decoder, which is still plugged in, turns on and off by itself...

I agree with you. I'm moving from a hardware failure to a change of ISP.
What led me to this solution is NC's proposal for my technical problem.
The NC solution lies in a reasoning that escapes me.
Technical decoder problem = change of decoder = change of contract = €20 increase in my monthly subscription.
Since my building is not fiber-optic, I feel free to go with an ISP that is willing to follow my case.
