Need help! Inverted keyboard symbols

Hello,

I bought a second-hand Asus laptop on a well-known site. It works very well, but the only issue is with the keyboard, which is set to French mode with foreign symbols. The letters work, but the symbol keys do not correspond to what is displayed on the screen. For instance, when I press the semicolon, the screen shows a comma as it is configured like a "French" keyboard. I would like to know what type of keyboard it is, so I can configure it in its original language.

    Hello,

    Maybe knowing the country of residence of the previous user could have helped you. Personally, I have a Belgian keyboard, and the keys for non-literal characters do not correspond to those on your keyboard.

    I believe the best way to proceed, if you are on Windows, is to test the different available Azerty keyboard layouts (Luxembourg, Canada, etc.).

    Some characters look like Turkish characters, but after trying the different keyboard layouts in Windows 7, none seem to match..

      Your keyboard seems quite exotic for an AZERTY, especially the position of the semicolon. Even the previous user apparently couldn't find the solution, since it was resold as is. Personally, I would directly request on the Asus website, giving them the exact references of your PC to try to get the correct keyboard driver.

    Hello,

    I tried all the available keyboards in the Windows 7 settings, none of them match even the Czech keyboard (the place where the PC comes from). So I decided to call Asus, and the only solution they offered me was to buy stickers to put on the keys so that they would match the symbols appearing on the screen. This archaic solution did not suit me, so I decided to remap the keys using the keyboard + software. It's a bit tedious to do, but the result is convincing. I hope this solution will be useful for anyone facing the same problem as I did.

    I think it's a "US azerty" keyboard, maybe look at the Asus EeePC
