Launch issue "The Battle for Middle-earth II"

Hello,

After searching for a week on all possible forums and trying all the tips suggested there, I turn to you. I have a PC running Windows 8.1 and I wanted to play The Battle for Middle-earth II again. There were no issues during the installation and that of its expansion. It’s when I try to launch it that it gets stuck on the launch window for a few seconds, then I get an error message "The Battle for Middle-earth II has stopped working." I can't find a solution.
I tried running the game in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode, creating an option.ini folder and a maps folder in appdata/roaming/The Battle for Middle-earth II, still no results. I also tried installing the latest patches, but to no avail. I'm really starting to despair...
If someone would be extremely kind enough to help me find a solution, I would be extremely grateful!

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 32.0

    Hello,
    I don't know if the topic is still relevant, but I had exactly the same problem and I followed the instructions from the Maarek YouTube link and now the game launches.

    Hi, did you download the game and then the expansion or is it on CD?
