Hello,
I wanted to try DuckDuckGo as a search engine and I don't like it.
I am trying in vain to remove it, I replace the search engine with another one and after a few restarts, it comes back.
Is there a way to block it with ADBLOCK or something else?
REGARDS.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 32.0

Hello,
I have reattempted your suggestions including ZHPcleaner, uninstalling Firefox, and resetting it without success.
The only way to find Google, for example, is after replacing DuckDuckGo with Google in the Home Page Options twice and restarting Firefox; I can then access Google in a second tab, the first being Duck.
Is this behavior indicative of a virus?
Regards.

Hello,
I've had this case before, it's benign.
If you're using Google Chrome, everything happens in the browser settings.
Go to settings/
In the "On startup" section, check "Open a specific page or set of pages"/in the set of pages, remove the search engines you don't want and set https://www.google.fr
In the "Appearance" section, check "Show home button" and modify your search engine if necessary (https://www.google.fr)
In the "Search" section / Manage search engines / remove all default search engines and add https://www.google.fr, in "Other search engines," remove all search engines.
After these steps, restart Google Chrome, and it works.
Best regards

Hi,
Reconfigure the search engines on your browsers:
* Firefox: https://www.malekal.com/reparer-firefox/?t=36057&start=
* Google Chrome: https://www.malekal.com/reparer-google-chrome/?t=35837&start=
Comme l'ange que tu es, tu ris créant une légèreté dans ma poitrine,
Tes yeux me pénètrent,
(Ta réponse est toujours 'peut-être')
C'est là que je me suis levé et suis parti.

Hello,
I believe I found the solution unless a new problem arises.
Command line: about:config + Enter, click on "I'll be careful, I promise!" > opening a table, in the search line type "duckduckgo", a selection of lines appears.
Left area, all the lines where duckduckgo is visible > double click G and delete the content + OK. > the right part becomes empty or 0.
Right area, mouse over the line and all the content appears, somewhere we find DDGo, I didn’t question it, frustrated, I applied the same punishment as above and the entire area became empty.
However, I have thus cleared the line "Capability.policy.maonoscript.sites" what will happen?

Hello,
And this morning, DuckDuckGo was there.
So I uninstalled Firefox using Revo Uninstaller, version 4, the most comprehensive one, ran AdwCleaner, then restarted, and installed Firefox.
DuckDuckGo is no longer there for now. I hope it’s permanent.
I don’t dare mark it as RESOLVED.
Regards.

Hello everyone,
. I search, I search and find nothing. I uninstall, I reinstall, I thought about a restore but the proposed dates are too recent.
