Hello, I have a MEDION PNA 150 GPS VERSION NAVIGATOR 4.4 and I can't install the speed cameras. Can anyone help me? Please, thank you very much in advance.....

To install the speed cameras or other points of interest, you need to install POI WARNER for a MEDION (around €30)

For that, check the website www.naviating.de

Once installed, you will find free speed camera updates (Basic version) on the website www.alertegps.com

Hello,

You need to install "ActiveSync" on your computer (if you haven't done so already). It is on a CD that came with your GPS. It allows you to explore the files on your GPS.

Once ActiveSync is installed, when you connect your GPS to your computer, ActiveSync will launch.

It may prompt you at startup to set up a partnership with your GPS. You should select NO and click next.

Click on the explorer icon (to explore your GPS).

Now, to install the speed cameras, you need to go to:

My Flash Disk\Navigation\POIWarner GoPal-Edition\pois

This is where you copy the various camera files (.acs and .bmp).

Here is the result of my trial, not great; here's what I did, I copied POIWARNER.EXE as well as the .asc and .bmp files into the "MY FLASH DISK" folder because I don't have the "My Flash Disk/Navigation/Poiwarner gopal-edition/pois" folder; so already there must be something wrong!!! And can you tell me how to see once they are installed?

Hello,For ValérieI misspoke or I was too quick.Did you get Poi-Warner from www.navigatin.de? (Unfortunately paid)If YES: when you registered, they asked you for different information about your GPS (brand, model, serial number, etc.). From that, you should have received an email with a code that you will need during installation!If YES: connect your GPS to your PC and run PoiWarner.exe on YOUR PC (and not copy it to the GPS). By running this, it will copy various programs to your GPS for functionality (including the directory to install the speed cameras + Poi-Warner).I believe that during this installation, a message on the GPS asks for a code for validation; this is the one you must have received by email and you need to enter it. If not during installation, it should prompt you for it the next time you restart the GPS.That's it, normally Poi-Warner is installed.Now, you can install the speed cameras (.asc and .bmp)I hope I was clear in my statements.For Vincent? (vincepc)Indeed, "morePoi Speecams" does contain Poi-Warner, but a lower-end version.I think the installation should be the same as the one given above for Valérie (without validation code). Check if it's already installed on your GPS.See if you can find the same paths (directories) mentioned in my previous messages using ActiveSync.I preferred to buy the higher version. First, there are few instructions in the manual or on the CD.
I installed Activesync...
I tested my GPS yesterday with a route, it’s OK but how can I get detailed instructions for all the operations because for now I'm groping around.. How do I set a speed limit, for example?

I previously had a NAVMAN ICN530 and it seemed simpler...
I'm not even at the installation of the speed cameras yet!!!!!

I think there must be a more detailed manual than the one I have to familiarize myself with all the functions..

Here is a slightly long post but I hope it will answer several questions:   I - Install POIWARNER LIGHT  POIWarner Light is a stripped-down version of the POIWarner software that you can find on this site www.poiwarner.com It is delivered with CERTAIN MEDION GOPAL MODELS (check the box)   The first step is to install MICROSOFT ACTIVESYNC on your computer. This program is provided on a CD marked MICROSOFT or on the DVD You can find the latest version of the software at this address: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5ba00611-b25d-4614-bb9c-7f61d7aee557&DisplayLang=en  Install it and connect your device to the computer when prompted.  Now, there are 2 scenarios: 1- You have among several CDs, a CD titled MorePoi or SpeedCam 2- You only have a DVD    1- You have a CD titled MOREPOI or Speedcam Insert the DVD into your drive. If it doesn't launch automatically, click on "Start/My Computer" Double click on your CD-ROM drive. Only one folder appears: it is named "7" Right-click on this folder and choose "Copy"  OR  2 - You have a single installation DVD Insert the DVD into your drive. If it launches automatically, close the window. Click on "Start/My Computer" Right-click on the CD drive and choose "Open" from the menu that appears. Double click on the folder "Installation". Several language folders may appear: double click on a folder containing "FR" (for example: DE - FR - IT) Now, numbered folders should appear '1', '2' etc... Right-click on the folder "7" and choose "Copy"  Close all windows. Click again on "Start/My Computer" Double click on "Mobile Device" then on "My_flash_disk" If a folder "INSTALL" appears, open it, otherwise create it (right-click "New/Folder"). "INSTALL" MUST BE WRITTEN IN CAPITAL LETTERS. Once in the INSTALL folder, right-click and choose "Paste". Confirm the ActiveSync message with OK. The transfer of the "7" folder to the "My_flash_disk/INSTALL" folder begins. Once it is complete, disconnect the device from the PC and perform a reset; upon restarting, the installation of Gopal Light will begin.   There is an Official Medion Forum where you can ask questions: www.forum-medion.fr   Updating the radars: This operation is normally not possible on POIWarner Light. Fortunately, guy55 from the Forum www.gpspassion.com found a trick. Here is the link: http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=92245     II - Install POIWARNER Commercial Version  The easiest way to install POIWarner is to refer to the site http://www.wikango.com PLEASE NOTE, the full version of POIWarner is paid. It costs 29.90 euros. Radar updates can then be found for free  The first thing to do is to install ActiveSync on your PC (the software is provided on CD) The latest version can be downloaded at this address (link) You need to establish a partnership between the PC and the GPS  Then, on http://www.alertegps.com, simply click on "Installation Guide" then "Standalone GPS" and finally choose Manufacturer "Medion" and then the model. If the model does not appear, the procedures for Gopal devices are almost all identical, so you can choose any model marked Gopal. Otherwise, there are devices running on Medion Navigator 4 or 5.1 (PLEASE NOTE POIWARNER IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MEDION NAVIGATOR VERSION 5.0)  In brief, the procedure consists of going to the site http://www.poiwarner.de or http://www.navigating.de (it’s the same site!) Select French then Medion. Then click on the navigation system (Gopal 1, Gopal 2-3, Medion Navigator 4 or Medion Navigator 5) Click on "register" then "download and register" Click on the setup corresponding to your device (the model appears on the back of the device: PNA ...) The installation is done from the PC. Just follow the instructions on the site.  To update the radars, follow the instructions on the site http://www.wikango.com by clicking on "download" / "Basic Version" / "Standalone GPS" / "Medion" and choose the model. Download the Medion.zip file Unzip it (right-click / Extract All) Open the "Medion" folder: you need to select and copy all the RF.asc, RF.bmp... files (click on "Edit/Select All" and "Edit/Copy") Now you need to paste (Edit/Paste) all these files either into C:\Program_files\Poiwarner\Pois or directly onto the GPS device in "Mobile Device\my_flash_disk\Navigation\POI-Warner\Pois or in "Mobile DeviceStorageCard\Navigation\POI-Warner\Pois" (if the software has been installed on a card)

Installing radars on a Medion, especially on a 500T, feels like a mission impossible. To register the POI-Warner, you are given a registration number, and this registration number will subsequently allow you to receive a POI-Warner ID number that will validate the registration based on the GPS model. In short: Transaction number (purchased) + GPS model = POI-Warner ID. Having experienced this with both a Medion 350 and a 500T, I can say that the provided POI-Warner ID is never valid. I find the loading protocol for the radars on the Medion to be highly unpredictable; I personally gave up.
