Update the mapping of an old Medion GPS

Hello,

I have a Medion GPS from 2007 that works perfectly but for which Medion no longer offers map updates.

Would it be possible to update it using free GPS data? If so, how can I proceed?

Configuration details:
Medion GPS MD96440 running Windows CE.
Navigation software: Medion GoPal Navigator ME version 4.1.A-28830

    Hello,

    Medion is no longer around, and even if the accompanying software (GoPal) is still usable with the promised "lifetime" updates (for device support), it will be in the desert since there is no more mapping available.

    It seems difficult to substitute generic maps like OSM since the mapping format appears to be proprietary (PSF).

    In short, it's dead.

    Since the GPS runs on Windows CE, is there perhaps a possibility of installing another navigation software?

      I don't know, but I would be surprised.

      Aside from the difficulty of finding something that runs on Windows CE, the operating system is generally more or less proprietary and it is programmed to account for specific firmware.

      Moreover, Windows CE no longer exists; it seems more or less illusory even if there was a dedicated navigation software that it is up to date, and besides, you need an "entry point" to install something.

      Just for fun, I had previously installed Waze not on my phone but directly on the GPS integrated into my car, but whose proprietary Android version had a documented flaw that allowed the installation of third-party applications.
