Connecting PS4 Home Cinema TV
Closed
Hello,
In searching online, I couldn't find an answer, which is why I am opening a topic. I have a PS4, a Philips HTS5591 home theater system, and a Toshiba Regza TV from 2011 (I can't seem to find the exact model), which has HDMI and optical inputs. I actually have 4 HDMI cables and one optical cable, so I think I have everything I need to make all sorts of connections. My question is: How can I get sound from my PS4 through the Home Cinema system? I've tried several connection configurations but none have worked. Below is the technical sheet for the home cinema, but I couldn't find one for the TV :/ Thank you in advance!

Hi, I also have a Philips home theater; to get it working with my PS4, I simply use a jack cable connected to the front of the home theater and to the back of my TV; it works perfectly with all my devices, the sound being directed as usual to the TV but then directly to the home theater; so don’t change the settings on the PS4 itself!
If you don't have a jack input on your TV or your home theater, check if you have an audio OUT on your TV; these are the white and red cables;
Let me know if that solved your problem :)
Otherwise, another option is to connect the optical cable from your home theater to your PS4, but you will then have to change the sound settings on the PS4, and it won’t work with other devices.
