HP Photosmart 5520 Software

Solved

Hello,

I have an HP Photosmart 5520 printer. Until today, I had no problems. This morning, I wanted to open the application to check the ink level. It never wanted to open. I made updates, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer. I still can't open it, and now I can't even find the dialog box to scan files and convert them into the desired format (from JPEG to PDF, etc., for example).

I don't know where this could be coming from. The printer prints correctly (I'm using USB), and I can scan from the printer's screen, but I can no longer choose the format in which I want to save my file; it automatically saves as a PDF.

As long as it works, everything is fine. I print more than I scan, but I would like to know why the application won't open when everything indicates that everything is okay.

Thank you very much for your responses and your help.

Configuration: Windows 8 / Chrome 35.0.1916.153

Thank you for the response.

In the end, I went on the HP support forum and downloaded a patch: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/sclitefileassociation/SCLiteFix_299026.exe

Since then, no problems :)

Other than that, I've never had any issues with this printer, to be fair I don't use it much.

Thanks again :)

Hello,
If I were you, I would delete all the programs related to this printer, without exception, and I would reinstall the new drivers that you will need to download from the HP website. Since I'm being nice tonight: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=5157536&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us
However, if I may say so, I have this printer (among others) and it’s a real piece of crap.
Fortunately, I didn't pay for it and a client gave it to me, but my god, it’s so terrible.
For me, it’s the touchscreen that no longer works at the bottom.
