Hello,

for several days now, I have been experiencing a disc reading problem with my hi-fi system.
When I put in a CD and press "play," it says "Reading Disc" and "Please Wait" and then nothing happens.

I have already cleaned my hi-fi system (cables, lens, etc.), but the CD still won't start.

If anyone knows the solution, could you please share it with me?

    Is the CD spinning? The motor might be faulty.

    Funny, I picked up an old Philips walkman this weekend that wasn't working either, the CD wouldn't spin.
    I took it apart by chance, scratched the motor contacts, and it started working again!
