I turned my laptop back on (COMPAQ PRESARIO CQ70) which had been off for many hours and it didn’t want to start and it emitted a continuous very, very loud beep, really forcing me to turn it off because it hurts my ears. It’s the first time it’s done that. I managed to restart after 3 tries, so I’m afraid to turn it off and it won’t start again at all. Does anyone have any idea about this problem? thanks

    Bip of Death

Listen to the beep and here is the list that indicates what the beep corresponds to

I’m wondering if you could even call that a beep, anyway it’s really strong and it doesn’t stop

      According to the list:

      Long, recurring beeps:
Problems with poorly installed memory (AWARD BIOS) which likely means it comes from the hard drive and could potentially result from a shock if the PC fell to the ground

      Short, high-pitched, recurring beeps:
The CPU temperature is too high. It means you should better ventilate your PC
