Hello,

As you may have seen in the title, I can't activate Windows anymore (it deactivated itself), I tried using my original key, but it said the key was blocked with a nice error code: 0xC004C003 "The activation server determined that the specified product key is blocked."

So let me tell you how it happened.

Yesterday, I was watching a movie (Harry Potter 4 on a streaming site). (I had started an update at the same time). Suddenly, BAM! Blue screen (the blue screen of death), telling me that it was collecting information on the errors, blah blah blah, that my PC was going to restart, blah blah blah (the error code was: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED). After 5 minutes of waiting, my computer still wasn't restarting. I decided to unplug the power. Then, I turned it back on (after plugging the power back in) and at startup, just before the interface to log into my Microsoft account, blue screen. The same happens at every startup. I then decided to "refresh" my PC. Once the "refresh" was done, I found all my files, no problem, except since I refreshed my computer, at every startup, I have a blue screen (not a blue screen of death, just a blue window) asking me to activate Windows 8 (there's a button to go into the settings and activate Windows 8). Then when I click on the button to activate Windows 8, it sends me back to the settings. I tried to activate Windows with my original key (I retrieved it thanks to a great program called: WinfoKeys). I enter the key, it tells me the key works, I click on continue and BAM! It says "Unable to activate Windows, Error code: 0xC004C003 The activation server determined that the specified product key is blocked." Anyway, I can't activate Windows, I don't know what to do. Now, I was wondering if it's really serious to leave Windows unactivated or if it really needs to be activated. Anyway, thank you for reading this far and thank you for your future replies ;-)

PS: Before the refresh, I was on Windows 8.1, afterwards, I downgraded to plain Windows 8, I don't know if this could be related to a version change.

Configuration: Windows 8 / Chrome 32.0.1700.76

Hello, dany311

Thank you for your reply, but it doesn't help me. When I enter the key, as I mentioned, it gives me an error code (0xC004C003) :-(
