Hello, I have a Viamichelin X950 T GPS and I would like to update the software so that it is more complete; I am missing roundabouts, etc., due to the urbanization of the roads. How can I do this? Thank you in advance for your responses.
HELLO
I HAVE A VIA MICHELIN X950T WHICH I BOUGHT IN 2006 AND I CAN'T UPDATE IT. NOW, SINCE I HAVE VISTA ON MY COMPUTER, MY CD IS NOT ACCEPTED. CAN SOMEONE IN THE SAME SITUATION HELP ME? THANK YOU FOR YOUR ADVICE.

Is it possible to install TomTom software on a Viamichelin X 950 T device?
If so, how can I do it?
Thank you in advance.

I have a Michelin GPS x950t, and like my friends in the same situation, my navigation map is no longer up to date. I contacted Via Michelin, and they confirmed that the update service is no longer available. Therefore, I ask the same question: is there a compatible TomTom map for this type of device?
Regarding navigation on ViaMichelin, there is a subtlety regarding route selection: there is a speed setting based on the type of road. You can change it by clicking on options-navigation-route, where you have the ability to adjust speeds to favor the type of road you want to take. For example, if you don't want to take the highway, you can set the speed to 10 km/h and ensure that the device will avoid it.
Hello, you mentioned that to avoid highways you need to set the speed to 10 km/h; I have an x950 and it only goes down to 20 km/h; but it works; Do you know any tips for creating a route like on Via Michelin: recommended, shortest, cheapest?
Hello,
I am in the same situation and I would like to know if you found the solution
Thank you in advance for your reply.

I bought one of the latest Michelin 950 T GPS, and I have never been able to register it.
It is in my drawer, and I would like to know how to use it and if it is possible to change the software in this GPS???

Hello, I also have a ViaMichelin, contrary to what is advertised on the ViaMichelin site, their GPS do not offer all the features of the site!!! Moreover, the 950 suggests totally arbitrary routes with detours of over 20 km for initial distances of 12 km, or even makes you pass the same place twice.
Hello,
to install TomTom on a GPS via Michelin, there is a website that explains all this! www.gpspassion.com
you need to install a software called vampirep, this software also allows you to play mp3, video, and enables you to set the background to vampirep which looks a bit like Windows 98 but on GPS!

I just had the same problem when trying to update the Europe maps (€99 for 2 years); it crashed and since then the LED is yellow and we can't do anything, not even a soft or hard reset.
And of course, the viamichelin website provides no answer to the technical problem.

Listen, I had the same problem and I solved it easily
you just need to unscrew the 4 small screws at the back of the device and use a knife blade to slightly pry open the two covers to open the device. Then you take the battery power cable, unplug it and plug it back in, and that's it. You put it on charge and turn it back on
you just have to reconfigure it and it's good to go. There you go, bye.

For anyone experiencing a blockage after changing/reloading a card, remember to check the memory card itself: there's a write protection switch (yes, really!), and if by chance it's in the wrong position, it's blackout time...
Yes, it is possible...
and I believe it's explained on the web...
but I can't find it...
if you want, I know where to read it in Spanish.
Good luck!

I had the same problem, the update had finished but it was impossible to add POIs. I put in a 1GB card, I did an SD restore and it worked, or more simply, copied the 512MB card onto a new 1GB card. Michelin is not very good with its software, especially version 5 which is quite average, version 6 seems much better.

Hello, I agree with you. I have a 950TFR and I installed a version 6 Europe map instead of the version 5 that came with the GPS, but I'm looking for the version 6 CD. Can you burn it for me? If yes, this will allow me to do my update. I can send the CD or DVD, it depends on the space. Please, I'm in trouble.
Hello,
I am very interested in what you said. I also have a Via Michelin x950t with a 512 MB SD card, version 5.0.10. How do you go about upgrading to a 1 GB or 2 GB card? Moreover, everyone is talking about version 6. Is it the version 6.5.4? On the Michelin website, they say that only version 6 can upgrade to version 6.5.4.
Could you please help me? Thanks in advance.

The update I wanted to undertake after purchasing the infamous software that crashes all the machines. Don't count on the viamichelin site, which only knows about selling on its site but has no space for bugs or any other issues with their hardware. A revolution of buyers would be necessary in this country where it's possible to sell nonsense without facing the storm in return. See you later, and good luck.
We opted for a standard exchange without any modifications, of course. Best regards.

Hello, I have a problem with my GPS x950t that I bought in July. The setup went fine (a bit complicated for someone who isn’t very familiar with computers =) I wanted to take advantage of the update offer for 9 euros at the end of September; I have the CD... I connect the GPS to the computer, insert the CD, and start the update. After a certain time, it freezes, and when I unplug it, nothing works on the GPS.... We put the installation CD back in, and it works.... After several contacts with the website through Michelin, they tell me that it’s my fault.... They say that the SD card that comes with the GPS is 512MB, and they advise me to call them for guidance. I believe that the card for the update is too small...
Thanks in advance for any advice
Michel

Hello, can you help me? I have a X950T France and I've been given a world card. Everything is fine except that the update v6.0.54 won't go through because it asks me to delete the old update v5.0.10. What should I do? Help!
Hello,

My brother-in-law entrusted me with his X-950T, which, after a card recharge, crashed.
I performed the recharge procedures with my PC, and the result was a major crash; the yellow LED started flashing and then nothing.
The device didn't want to know anything anymore. I was fed up and abandoned it without even being able to turn it off.
After a night of running empty, the yellow LED was found turned off by morning.
A recharge, and miracle, the X thing regained all its "previous" capabilities. Who knows what to think? Since then, it's been functioning, but without the modification, of course.
Here's my response to John, who will recognize himself. Best regards.
For me, GPS = Big Problem, Surely.

Hello,
After emailing Michelin to ask if it was possible to upgrade from my version 5.0.10 to 6, they kindly replied on the same day that it was possible but that this version 6 for X950T was no longer available for download on their website.
So if anyone has version 6 and could burn it for me and send it, I would reimburse the costs.
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
A brother-in-law entrusted me with his ViaMichelin to eventually see what isn't working too well.
I followed the procedure to update the map of France, and that's where the problem started.
It didn't recognize an address in Nantes, not even Nantes itself, and when I tried to manipulate it, I ended up with a YELLOW LED that stays on and nothing else, even the shutdown command remained ineffective. I put everything away 'LED still on until it automatically switched everything to OF and I couldn't ask it anything anymore, the beast is dead.
How can I wake it up? Is there a solution, or is it back to the store with all the inconveniences that entails?
However, on the websites, there are no tips other than sales ads, nothing on the real issue which is actually well known, and echoed by many users who, like me, are at a standstill. When will we have reliable equipment, with software that installs without crashing? COCORICO, we're not there yet.
