Unable to color cells in Excel

Hello, I must have made a mistake while trying to change the background colors of my desktop because since then my Microsoft Excel 2010 spreadsheet has lost all colors and I can no longer add any to the cells. Thank you for your help (WINDOWS 8).

    Do you possibly have conditional formatting?

    I don't know, this happened after changing the desktop background, it was working fine before. I've looked everywhere and I can't see what's blocking the color filling.
