Hello everyone!,
it's all in the title... ;)
Actually, I'm going to receive illustrations that I will need to scan in high resolution, which will be used for layout and printing. So my file needs to be in CMYK.
I absolutely need to achieve the same color rendering as my original illustrations.
Could you please let me know how to ensure they are preserved when converting from RGB to CMYK? And what would be the best method?...
I hope you can enlighten me... :)

It's not possible... and it needs to be explained to the client...
The RGB color space is larger than the CMYK one...
It is not possible to simulate the entire RGB color spectrum with 4 inks... a choice has to be made... hence the retouching to enhance or accentuate the contrasts and areas of the image...
For luxury work, we can print in hexachrome... (often for packaging), and in this case, we enlarge the CMYK color space. But it's special and not really the same price!
