Driver for WD USB device not installed

Hello everyone,

A few days ago, I bought an external hard drive. Not knowing exactly what is important for the data, I'm sharing everything that is written on the box: WD My Book for Max, 2TB, USB3.0 + USB 2.0

Eager to use it, I plugged it into my PC that very evening. It detects the device but after searching for a few moments, it informs me that no driver could be installed. So I tried on another computer: same issue.
When I click on "troubleshoot", it tells me that "the driver for WD device USB device is not installed. Please install the latest driver for the device."

After doing some research online, I came across forums where some people had encountered similar problems. Some of them linked to driver installation links. After downloading and trying several, unplugging and replugging the hard drive, there is still no change.

I'm reaching out to the community to see if anyone can provide an answer before I regret this purchase (which wasn't cheap, by the way!)

Thanks in advance to those who will empathize.

On the WD site, there should be:
    - either the installation procedure
    - or the programs to download in order to use the HDD

      Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately, if I am asking the question here, it's because I have already followed the installation procedure on the WD website. I downloaded the two drivers indicated by the site that correspond to the external hard drive I have. But once installed, when I launch a driver search, the PC responds that there are still no drivers for the device..!
