EPSON STYLUS SX235W does not recognize compatible cartridges.

Hello everyone,

I would like to know if there is a way for my Epson SX235W printer to recognize compatible cartridges.

I bought cartridges from the AUCHAN brand, but the light indicating that the cartridges are empty stays on and I can't print.

If anyone knows of any software or technique so that I don't have to throw my cartridges away (considering how much they cost!)

    But do I have to turn on the printer to put in the cartridges!!!???

    By the way, I don't know what the "replacement method" is, what is that?

      Sorry if my method didn’t work, but there are software (which are not free) online that might be able to solve your problem (for resetting the counter), but it’s not 100% guaranteed to work.

    There are a lot of tips for this, but I don't know if they work or not

    Try unplugging the cartridges and then turning on the printer without the cartridges, wait a bit and then turn it off. Then place your cartridges (wait a few more minutes) and then turn it on again.

    Also try the replacement method (via PC or the button on the printer)

    There are other methods online (by pressing a combination of buttons on the printer) but I haven't tried that method.

    The method provided here, I tested myself without looking it up online.

    It's up to you to verify them if this method doesn't work.

    The engineers who design printers spend a significant percentage of their working time studying how to prevent customers from using cartridges other than the original ones.
    It's on ink that these companies make their profits, as the printers themselves are sold almost at their cost price...
    Only AUCHAN claims that its cartridges are compatible! EPSON has never claimed such a thing... Now that you've been taken once, you won't do it again! In the meantime, bring the printer and cartridges to AUCHAN, show them that it doesn't work, and get your money back...

    Retirement is nice! Especially in the Antilles... :-)

      I understand your point of view, but first of all, they shouldn't price their cartridges so high (almost 50€ for three drops of ink, and a good portion ends up in the trash because the printer is programmed to only make a certain number of copies with the cartridge, and whether the cartridge is empty or not, the printer requires you to change it!) and secondly, I don't think EPSON is short on cash! With all the products they sell, don't worry, they're making a profit, and a nice one at that!

      It's simply theft and scam! Personally, I'm not a foolish and obedient consumer who does what I'm told to fatten up companies that care only about their profits!

      But that's just my opinion, everyone has theirs.

      I will eventually find a way to avoid being scammed! There's a solution for every problem, as they say!

      I unfortunately do not know any company whose aim is to achieve anything other than profits.
      Do not confuse with foundations, mutuals, and associations, whose aim is not to enrich owners or shareholders.
      EPSON is not short of money, especially thanks to its production of special papers and printing inks; manufacturing printers and selling them at cost allows for the creation of a market for paper and ink consumers.
      But all computer hardware companies operate in the same way...
      We must also add the crooks who sell supposedly compatible products and cynically deceive overly credulous customers!

    Hello.
    I ruined my printer because of " cheap " cartridges. It no longer recognized the cartridges after a few weeks. I bought Epson cartridges and during printing, it left big poorly printed lines. I thought the printer was done for. I did several head cleanings in vain. I left the cartridges in the printer for a week. I tried again and it worked perfectly!! Thankfully, I didn't throw the printer away.. But I won't buy unbranded cartridges again!
