A contact regularly calls me from a withheld number, claiming to be abroad, while I strongly suspect he is in France. How can I find the answer to my question?

An unknown person regularly calls me from a withheld number, telling me that he is abroad

why do you talk to him if you don’t know him?
what can two strangers discuss if they don’t have a common interest?
where did he get your number?

if people call me, whether from a withheld number or not, I expect them to introduce themselves and state the reason for their call
and if that doesn’t suit me, I thank them and say goodbye more or less politely depending on the circumstances
(except for people who "in collaboration with EDF" offer thermal assessments)

it seems to be more of a problem of personal private relationships than of phone calls, go see a detective and a lawyer if trust is lost

I know my interlocutor well, but I just want to know if he is really in the country he says he is, or if he is in France like I think.

He is a habitual liar, and I would like to expose him.

Thank you for helping me in my search.

But here, there's no need to be cunning.

For some, politeness is innate. Behind every keyboard, there is a human being... who only wants to be helpful, as long as one is a little respectful towards them...

I am one of them.

By using politeness

Even with all the courtesy I use, my correspondent, whom I know well, is accustomed to lying and will not meet my expectations with polite words. I need to be clever to catch him off guard.

Thank you for your reply.
